Man who 'stole neighbour's PS4 was caught after he kept it connected to owner's WIFI'
A man has been arrested amid claims he stole his neighbour's PS4 -
which police say they discovered when he left it connected to its
original owner's WIFI.
Phillip D Booker has been charged with the theft of the console as well as two televisions, a laptop, and other assorted items. Police
say that the burglary victim returned to his flat in Nashville,
Tennessee, from a holiday and found some of his belongings missing.
A few days later, his phone alerted him that his PS4 had powered up - and showed it was still connected to his own WIFI.
He called the
police and explained the situation and that the PS4 must still be close,
and they report that they searched Booker's flat. Inside, they claim they found the victim's PS4, laptop and a small amount of marijuana.
Booker admitted to "shouldering open" the man's front door
according to police, who add he also said he pawned his two televisions
and a tablet.
The charges of aggravated burglary and possession of a controlled substance have been brought by the police.
