Bayern Set Two New UCL Records

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich set two new UEFA Champions League records when they beat Juventus on Wednesday night to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.

The Bavarians seemed to be heading out of the tournament when the Italians took an early two-goal lead, thanks to strikes from Paul Pogba and Juan Cuadrado.

However, Pep Guardiola's side fought back to seal a 4-2 extra-time win and book their place in the next round.

Bayern have now made it to the quarter-finals a 15th time, something no other club has achieved before, according to Opta Sports.

The German club have also scored three goals in each of their past seven home games in the Champions League – a statistic not even Barcelona has matched.

Bayern will have to wait until Friday, when the draw for the next round takes place, to see who they will face in the quarter-finals.
